The
UTPB campus master plan study was commissioned in the spring of 1996 in an effort
to revise the original 1972 UTPB Campus Master Plan. The proposed UTPB Master
Plan calls for a more traditional campus envirnment with smaller scale buildings
and more emphasis on ground level pedestrian circulation and open space. The
proposed master plan focuses on development of new pedestrian and vehicular
entries to the campus core from the Universtiy Boulevard entry to the campus.
A user-friendly landscape pedestrian quadrangle is proposed at the core of the
campus to improve the campus image while providing a formal entry to the campus.
