The Permian Basin Petroleum Museum received a $4.2 Million grant from the
Texas Department of Transportation in 2000 to construct a new museum wing. The
new Transportation Wing will showcase the Jim Hall Chaparral Racing Car Collection
and improve the museum's education and support facilities. RWA designed a new
20,000 s.f. addition which includes the 6,000 s.f.
Chaparral Gallery , a multipurpose auditorium, a vending café, a
new loading dock and an exhibit staging area for traveling exhibits.
